Friday Post... TGIF?

Good morning, world. I'm attempting to write this while simultaneously following the Boston man hunt so I may be a little (read very) distracted.

Stay safe, Bostonians!!!! I spent six years in the city and while I may have cursed the bitterly cold winters, the constant discussion of the Red Sox, and the teeming masses of undergraduates… YOU DON'T MESS WITH MY CITY!

I'm holding off on reading reviews of Ek Thi Daayan because I'm afraid of having the creepy thrills spoiled by "critics" who "critique" by writing out the plot and then adding a line about whether they liked it or not. But word seems positive at the moment.

Aamir Khan makes the list of Time's 100 most influential people along with young Pakistani teenager Malala Yousufzai.

The Daily Bhaskar seems to have joined my quest to poke holes in Priyanka Chopra's PR machinery. Better start payment over there ASAP!

(But even I'll admit that's a great photo of her they're using. Way to rock a smokey eye, PC!)

Related: Gunday to release next Valentine's Day.

Ileana is not part of Gabbar.

Gulzar to write the script for Rakesh Omprakash Mehra - a contemporary update of the Mirza-Sahiban story.

Silly non-article on film names that's worth a browse just for the list of excellent words.

And there is this:

Bollywood also saw a phase when movie titles were taken word by word from popular songs.

Sigh. Don't we all remember too well… Is that phase over yet? (Can it be over yet?!)

Bollywood fixtures on banning porn - some sassy and some nuanced.

Onir: "I am against every form of censorship and moral policing. Though at times it is difficult not to want some control over an industry which is highly exploitative. But the real issues of poverty and education need to be addressed. Banning porn is not a solution. It's absurd."

Have a feel good piece on mail addressed to "Bollywood" finding it's way to a star.

Heh, I saw an article where Jacky Bhagnani admitted to having registered "Dharpakad" as a title but was swearing up and down it had nothing to do with Special 26. Fun times.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.

xoxo Filmi Girl
