Monday Craze Edition...

The big story today... Ek Tha Tiger joins the 100 Crore Club!!

I was already planning on watching it again and it looks like I wasn't the only one!

* Beth talks piracy over at the WSJ.

I asked Ms. Kamat what the film industry could do about a complex situation that looks like a losing battle, especially when it’s hard to work up much sympathy for wealthy celebrities and producers. “I think that as consumers become aware of more options like official uploads and licensed rentals, the demand for pirates will decrease,” she said.

* I'm getting worried about Joker. Obviously I am going to love it because it's Shirish and Akshay and both Pito and Alexx signed on and I trust the two of them BUT the Joker team is unsure of how to sell it.

Meanwhile, Farah is happy to have produced a film like " Joker" and said: "It's for kids. After a very long time you'll see a film where parents can take their kids and they don't have to worry that something will come now, a kiss or sex or violence. It's very clean and entertaining film," Farah said.

All this make me think is... Aladin, which was ALSO sold as a kids film when it was really more complex than that.

* Amrita Singh says SHE is the one doing the film not 16-year old daughter Sara.

* Is Sonakshi gossiping too much for Salman's liking?

* And has she been dropped from Milan Talkies for... being too Indian?

Our source says, "Sona was said to be cast opposite Imran Khan. However, she was dropped because she was not comfortable to get out of her Indian look."

* Sajid Khan will be doing a live mahurat on youtube for Himmatwala.

* Is Kangana going to pull a Rekha in Queen?

* Interview with a director of Satyamev Jayate.

At the end of the day you have to look at the intention of the party. For the most part over a period of time, the critics realised our intention was to bring people together and create conversation about our problems. When we did our episode on Intolerance to love, the Khap Panchayat in Haryana announced a boycott of Satyamev Jayate. Two episodes later, they held a press conference saying they loved the episode on toxic food and that they would conduct workshops to promote organic farming. They did that because they realised we had no personal agenda against anyone.

ETA: Amitabh posted some great pictures of the crowd outside his house on his blog! Check it out!

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
