Thursday Gossip!

Good morning, everybody! Lucky for me - all the films I needed to see but didn't are still playing at the theater this weekend! So, my choices are Billa 2, Bol Bachchan, and Cocktail! I think it will be either B2 or BB for me.

* Rajesh Khanna has been put to rest. Grandson Aarav lit the funeral pyre. The New York Times has some photos from the funeral. And India Forums have some of the MASSIVE crowd that gathered.

* The Times of India explains how Kaka's family pulled around in the last years of his life.

According to Khanna's closest friends, it was son-in-law Akshay Kumar who played a key role in ensuring that the legend died a dignified death, surrounded by those who had loved him.

"It was obvious to Twinkle and Akshay that the superstar was very lonely and had become frail and vulnerable," a source close to the family said.

* And a wistful look back from Firstpost...

“I remember asking [Kaka] once a question: when did it dawn on you that you are a spent force, that the best years are behind you? He took a painful pause and he said, 'Mahesh one day the flowers stopped coming. Aashirwad (Rajesh Khanna’s bungalow in suburban Bandra) used to have truckload of flowers on my birthday. And one day there were no flowers',” [Mahesh] Bhatt told CNN IBN.

* Shotgun is out of the ICU. Stay strong, sir!

* No wonder!! Now it makes sense why Junaid is assisting on Peekay. Aamir stars in it. Also, Anushka is his heroine...

* Will Diana Penty head South?

* Saif Ali Khan is playing a Russian mobster in Go Goa Gone.

* Meet Bollywood's star trainers.

Today, Mr. Chourasia is very soft-spoken, often barely speaking above a whisper. His Barbarian Gym (named in honor of Conan the Barbarian) is a no-nonsense set of small rooms in a tucked-away building where he also has an apartment. Asked why so many stars are so infatuated with six-pack abs, Mr. Chourasia said the overriding reason was because they looked good.

* Son of Sardaar trailer releases tomorrow!

* Aamir Bashir (A Wednesday) will be releasing his directorial debut called Harud later this year.

Watch BB, it's really good. I did not like cocktail that much.

i thought it poignant that Amitabh said Kaka's last words were ” time ho gaya hai ! Pack Up ! “. I'd see BB too. Cocktail looks ok but its really the girls film, not Saif's.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
