Wednesday Gossip!

Today in gossip - Shiney Ahuja pretends audiences are dying to see a new film from the guy who brought you Hijack; Shahrukh Khan is under fire for accounting that's not quite "cricket"; and some other stuff! Like Vidya Balan dancing!

* Shiney Ahuja is back in the news with his upcoming film Ghost and the media coverage has been fascinating. Some outlets are framing the incident in which Shiney was convicted of raping his maid and sent to jail as a "challenge" for Shiney to overcome while others are framing it differently.

Actor Shiney Ahuja, who was convicted in a rape case, is making his comeback to Bollywood after almost three years with a new film Ghost.

But let's face it - there is no way that Shiney is getting a "second innings" in Bollywood. Not just because respectable actresses won't work with him but because he's washed up. He was washed up before he was convicted for raping his maid and he's even more washed up now. Shiney is deluding himself if he thinks that he can make it as a solo-hero.

Earlier this year, Sudhir Mishra had mentioned starting a new film with Shiney. Any progress there? He answers, “We are hoping to find a producer for it. I am confident once my other films start releasing, it won’t be that difficult.” Meanwhile the High Court has accepted Shiney’s appeal against the lower court’s conviction.

Right... you keep telling yourself that, Shiney. A less pompous actor might have decided to break back into acting through carefully chosen supporting roles and targeted charity work that would gradually warm public opinion (i.e. "Even though I did nothing wrong, this trial showed me how difficult domestics have it so I'm donating money to help them...") but we'll see how well your way of pretending that you are a top hero and deserving of sympathy works.

* O HO! POT CALLING KETTLE BLACK ALERT! Taran Adarsh doesn't understand all the negativity surrounding SRK's latest film.

RA.ONE had so much negativity surrounding it [even RAMGOPAL VARMA KI AAG didn't attract so much negativity then] that it must've stopped a number of prospective moviegoers from watching the film. I am sure about that. In today's times, the negative word travels faster than ever [via social networking sites and sms-es] and RA.ONE had to bear the brunt of it. For reasons that are inexplicable.

I guess it's only inexplicable when it's SRK because Taran is one of the many who piled onto films like Tees Maar Khan and Veer. He didn't seem too concerned about "negativity" then.

* Shahrukh Khan is being investigated for financial irregularities in the management of the Kolkata Knight Riders.

* Can American TV show 24 be remade to suit Indian audiences? Anil Kapoor is betting on it.

* Will Hindi audiences enjoy a remake of Don Seenu? Probably!

* Raj and Pablo are launching a t-shirt collection! VERY COOL, GUYS!

* Some info on Mani Ratnam's upcoming Pookkadai...

* Reema Kagti's film is not called Dhuan after all.

* John Abraham dips a toe into production.

* Force director Nishikant Kamath signs a new film!

* Ekta Kapoor and Farah Khan are two of India's most powerful businesswomen according to Fortune India.

* And Katrina is doing an item number!

Check out a promo for Vidya's appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati!

Hey FG,

Did you read about the latest "Superstar" in Kerala?

A man called Santosh Pandit has just released a film called Krishnanum Radheyum in Kerala with no prior experience and made with a paltry budget of 5 lakhs.

While all other producers decided to hold back their films for Diwali, this man released his film in 3 theatres in Cochin.

The film is spectacularly bad that it is awesome.... and it has been running houseful ever since. People are queuing up to see how bad the film is........

Now due to public demand, he has released the film in 21 theatres all over the state and calls himself the next superstar.

You should check the trailer out:

The man has done everything including direction, acting, dialogues, costumes, songs etc

This kind of thing only happens in my dear country :) surreal....

Now the man has started on his next venture titled "Jithu bai enna chocolate boy". haha!

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
