Thursday Gossip!

So, the only comment I've gotten on the piece I posted yesterday is somebody butthurt that I called Ra.One a flop.

Can we just all agree that while Ra.One did make quite a bit of money, it also lost money for a lot of people and, most importantly, the overriding narrative in the media is that the film is a flop. So, I'm calling it a flop, which puts it in the same boat as films I liked - Tees Maar Khan and Mangal Pandey, which made money for some people but are considered flops.

Okay, guys? I'm really not picking on the film or SRK. If you read the piece, I even say that the film was a success in reaching non-traditional audiences. Please stop trying to argue with me about box office numbers because nobody wins that game.

NOW!!! Almost 100% of gossip coverage today was about Aishwarya and her new daughter so I had to dig pretty deep but I think you'll enjoy reading today's stories...

* Let's start out today with an odd story from video game world that ends in a bizarre video of Malaika Arora Khan dressed as the video game character dancing to a remixed version of "In ankhon ki masti."

Developed for the PS2 and Xbox, Irrational felt the finished game wasn’t up to its usual standards so chose not to have it published under its name. Instead, the finished title was licensed to an Indian studio called FXLabs. The game was ported to PC, localised – and then peppered with Bollywood. The resulting title plays exactly like the original game, but seems strange to its own creators.

“You’re playing this game, this otherworldly version of a game you spent a couple of years working on, and it’s just weird. You can’t wrap your head around how bizarre this is,” Gardner added.

* Ritesh and Genelia either are or aren't getting married in 2012 - and Saif and Bebo either are or aren't getting married in 2012. Who knows how reliable any of these reports are...

* Is there room in Bollywood for Mahesh Babu?

* It's Kajal Agarwal not Sonam Kapoor for A.R. Murugadoss's next film opposite Vijay.

* Bodyguard on television got gangbuster ratings!

* Stories are circulating of Ranbir Kapoor raising his asking price for future films.

* Also, Pakistani rock band Strings is unimpressed with the way rock is shown in Rockstar.

“We were not gripped by the film. Ranbir's get-up was overpowering. But his theories on life and their expression in his music did not support the overpowering music. A lot of detailing went into Ranbir's look, but not in his poetry and personality. Lambe baal aur daadhi ke peeche ek bahut badi philosophy hoti hai. That was missing in Rockstar,” added Faizal.

Enjoy a montage song promo for Don 2 featuring some really crap synth horns. Come on, Farhan, yaar, can't you shell out for some real brass?

In other news FG,

Did you get a chance to check this new song out:

A single released from the new tamil film "3" starring Dhanush and Shruti.

The title of the song is "Why this kolaveri di?" which translates into "Girl, why this rage?". This song has become a huge hit and I dont know why...... maybe it is Thamizhfied-english used for the lyrics......

And did you check out the teaser released for the hindi film "ek Deewana tha", remake of tamil hit film "Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya".

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.

xoxo Filmi Girl
