Monday Gossip!

Today in Gossip - Dubai, Sunny Leone, Size Zero, and guess whose name is now attached to Kanchana... from one Khan to another...

* On Bollywood's love affair with Dubai.

Sohail Khan, who has funded films including Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and Partner, considers UAE a must-stop while scouting for shooting locations. "I have shot a part of all my movies here. And I think it's one of the world's most film-friendly countries. In terms of hotels and shooting locations, the options are plenty. Look at the various hotels fitting a range of budgets that are there — the stars are comfortable and the crew too are comfortable," said Khan.

(Perhaps the distance from India also helps... like how Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is recording with Sajid-Wajid in Dubai for a few days because he's in legal trouble in India.)

* This Sunny Leone story continues to be fascinating. Mahesh Bhatt on why he is casting her...

"I am not casting her for her body, but I see that loneliness and heartbroken soul that is behind that smile. The entertainment business itself is not a cakewalk, so the porn business would have been a really tough ride for her," Bhatt told IANS on phone from Mumbai.

* Is SRK jumping on the South re-make bandwagon? Rumor has it he will be starring in the Lawrence-directed remake of Kanchana.

* Sisters Gauhar and Nigaar Khan want to become as notorious as the Kardashians. Check out the first episode of their new reality show.

* Kunal Kohli is full of shit.

According to the filmmaker, 'My film is not targeted to any specific audience. Though there are films that are made for target audiences, I think my film has the potential to appeal to all kinds of audiences be it the multiplex goers or the B & C towns.'

Oh... right... like how every other film you've done has been targeted at a particular audience? I'm not holding my breath that this one will be any different, no matter what Kunal Kohli says. I saw Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. I know.

* Trisha has given up on Bollywood.

* A snarky take on some of the actresses asked to lose weight for roles recently.

Deepika is now focussing more on pilates lessons that will help her get rid of those five kilos. Kangna, meanwhile, is said to have taken to kickboxing for a crash course in weight loss.

Script and acting basics can wait.

That tag ending KILLS ME! I love it. I think public opinion has definitely turned against the size zero trend.

* Sohan Roy talks about his controversial Dam999.

But even the name '999' seems to indicate the period of contract between the two governments over the dam...

The ‘999’ in the film refer to the date on which the dam collapses in the film—9 September, 2009. It may have been a pun on the contract period. However, the filmmaker has the creative freedom to do so and I don’t understand why anybody should stifle it. Today, 4,000 dams in India are outdated. By 2020, about 40,000 of the dams will be outdated. People should know and understand what dangers these structures are capable of causing.

* Akshay Kumar launches his own Grazing Goat productions. The article takes pains to mention that Twinkle is decorating the offices.

And check out this "Rang De" flashmob that hit Mumbai yesterday afternoon... *whistle whistle*

I just recently realized that the reason I knew Sunny Leone was because I saw her on an episode of Beverly Hills Brides when she went dress shopping with her adorable brother. Weird.

Mahesh Bhatt's response for why he's casting Sunny is the stupidest thing I've heard in my life...
Basically, Mahesh makes some B class films and wants some flesh show. Obviously, a porn star could show some.
I'm sure he can find tons of actresses, in Mumbai, who have that "lonely and heartbroken soul"...

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
