Monday Gossip

Hi, everybody!!! Did you miss me?!

I had a fantastic time in Boston, catching up with old friends and really digging into things at the Futures of Entertainment Conference. I think I bought out the MIT bookstore... or at least that's what my suitcase felt like on the way back!

Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to see Rockstar but word of mouth seems to reinforce what the trailer showed - everything was great except Nargis, who kind of blows... even if she's very pretty.

NOW! Enjoy your daily dose of compiled news!! Today we some important updates on VIDYUT JAMWAL among other things...

* The new economics of Bollywood - maximize the number of screens over opening weekend because opening weekend is all that matters.

* Vancouver is bidding for 2013 IIFA Awards.

* Ranjeet will be starring in a television film.

* Are they already planning a remake of Poraali in Hindi?

* Preity Zinta gets a second season of her television show.

* How does Sonam always find herself in these situations - just like her old-fashioned character in Mausam, she is being asked to live like her simple village girl character in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Maybe she can write Shahid a few letters while she's there...

* Madhur Bhandarkar has been granted bail in his rape case but he cannot leave the country without permission.

* She may have had mostly negative reviews but Nargis Fakhri has gotten signed on for endorsements.

* Bebo will be dancing to a medley of songs from her grandfather Raj Kapoor's films.

* Ileana D'cruz will be theKhiladi's new heroine!

* Salman Khan wins transgender activist Laxmi Tripathi approval for giving her cause visibility.

Talking to the PTI, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi said, "Salman Khan, like a true man, had the guts to stand by a transgender having me as a guest on Dus ka Dum. By taking up Bigg Boss I wanted to show that even a transgender can live a normal life with love and harmony, they need not be treated differently."

* Anurag Kashyap is starting a new film with UTV.

* And Sujoy Ghosh is doing a sequel to Jhankaar Beats.

* We've all had enough of size zero and Miss Size Zero herself is leading the charge in the opposite direction.

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor, whose avatar in Chammak Challo made men go weak in their knees, is now in the news for gaining some curves and looking her sexiest best! Payal Gidwani, who is Kareena and Saif’s trainer explains, “Size zero was considered the in-thing few years ago. But after many of the models and celebrities began facing serious health problems, they realised that it’s not an ideal way to stay fit. It’s not advisable for anyone to take to extreme workouts or diets. The repercussions will begin to show a few months after.”

* Narmaada Ahuja - Govinda's daughter - is now signed opposite Vinod Khanna's nephew Akhil Kapoor. That's right - this guy, another star son/hanger-on who has done a "few acting courses" and "assisted" on a few films, which obviously qualifies him for a big screen debut.

* Ram Charan Teja is headed to China to shoot for his new film

Yup, I sure did miss you! I'm glad you had a good time (per your twitter account), but I'm also glad to see the blog back again! Shows how addicted I've become to it in only a short while! :)

Well at least Sonam isn't just being singled out and Farhan is going with out gadgets as well. As for size zero can we please get beyond this does anyone really think women that thin look good, well except ad executives. There is a great look at this in the US in a documentary called Miss Representation.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.

xoxo Filmi Girl
