Tuesday Gossip!

Today in gossip - Neil Nitin Mukesh picks up singing, promos for Shahid Kapoor's Mausam and Aarakshan, Lady Gaga pretends to have seen a Bollywood film, Priyanka's stunt double from Don 2 passes away, AND MORE!

* This is a sad story - a struggling actress hung herself in her apartment. She clearly had mental health issues but her story does highlight how tough it is to make it in the industry, especially if you don't have family connections or money.

* Somebody with family connections and money who has received quite a few chances, Neil Nitin Mukesh, has turned his attention to song writing and singing. Because everybody knows that it's genetics that make a great performer and song writer, not innate musical talent and dedication to craft. It's why Julian Lennon is still so popular!
All I know is that Neil's version of "Aa Dekhen Zara" was the work of a guy who has not done much singing before... I'd rather listen to Sukhwinder Singh (who totes agrees with me.)

* Check out the upcoming schedule of releases around the big holidays... we're looking at Bodyguard for Eid-ul-fitr and Ra.1 for Diwali.

* Lady Gaga, who is traveling to India in October and will appear on Simi Garewal's chat show (which should be interesting), was zung by the British music rag the NME for claiming to love Bollywood and yet not being able to name a single film and/or actor.

However, when asked to name her favourite film she would not mention any specific title. She said: "I couldn’t name any one particular, I like so many,” and when quizzed on her favourite performer she was similarly vague, saying: "Again I have so many actors and actresses that I love in India and I couldn't name just one. I am just looking forward to getting to know them better."

Right... she "likes" Bollywood. (On Facebook, maybe! Ha!)

* Priyanka Chopra has officially dismissed rumors of any item songs. And I am grateful for that. Leave the items to the ladies who can handle them - Priyanka doesn't need to be taking jobs from Malaika Arora Khan.

* Speaking of PC, her Don 2 stunt double has died. Nobody is saying from what... drugs, maybe? When I see "sudden death" with no reason, I think "overdose."

* Yesteryears actor Raj Kiran was NOT in the Atlanta mental hospital as was previously reported. His family is still looking for him.

* Every once in a while a news story makes me think... Nepal is barely on my radar at all but they are so protective of Nepal as the birthplace of Buddhism. One filmmaker wants to delve further into it...

Ghimire says his 110-minute film will explode some of the common myths about the Buddha, including the one that said the prince left the luxury of the palace in shock after he saw an old man, a sick man, a dead man and a monk.

“The prince was 29 when he renounced worldly life,” Ghimire explains. “It is therefore impossible that he didn’t come across any old man in that time. His own father must have been old at that time. Actually, he gave up all claims on his kingdom to avert a clan war as his infamous cousin Devdutta was gearing up for battle.”

* Read a fun interview with Anil Kapoor!

Bollywood has many stars who take the slightest sign of 'disrespect' very personally, so it would not surprise people if you were offended, I guess.

Both Aamir and I are not like that. He is open to anybody saying anything to him. Uske aas paas genuine dost hain, kuch bhi bol sakte hain; chamche nahi hai. He's not one of those who live in a cocoon, is not like a star jo sirf apni tareef hi sunna chahta hai. People who are surrounded by yes-men get deluded easily. Each day when I get up I tell my wife, if you see me becoming that way, please stop me quickly! Main aisa to nahin ho raha na?

And some promos... Shahid's Mausam has finally emerged.

And it looks... not bad!

Song promo for Aarakshan featuring Saif and Dippy...

Sigh. I'm going to see the film because it's Prakash Jha but... THIS is why I didn't go see Love Aaj Kal. I hate this giggly persona of Deepika's and Saif's face these days...

Is it me or does Ali Zafar look oddly like Gael Garcia Bernal in this trailer?

And I spy Amrita Puri! :)

I LOVED Mausam's trailer, but then I love grand, sweepingo, old-fashioned romances and I get the feeling that's not exactly your cuppa tea. And MBKD! Katrina looks . . . not bad in it! :) Super excited for both.

Deepika was hardly giggly in the trailer ! She looked gorgeous but needs to work on her diction *shudder*

Was cringing while watching Katrina trying to act(as always)...but wont miss the movie cos I love Ali zafar. I hv a feeling the movie is gonna be painful to watch !

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan looks fun, and it's hilarious that Salman's "belt move" is being used all over the place now! LMAO!!!!

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan seems to have taken their promo titles and stuff from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
