Monday Gossip!

Good morning, fellow Bollywood fans! How was your weekend? I went to go see Game and streamed F.A.L.T.U. right to my living room! Of the two, I would recommend the latter. It's not mindblowing or anything but it put a smile on my face and is certainly worth the $2.89 for the legal streaming.

What else... oh, yes! If you are on twitter, you probably remember me asking about non-Indian actors and actresses who have appeared in Bollywood. Well, I just did an interview with Sarah Thompson Kane from
Raajneeti that should be up later this week. I have a couple more lined up and I'm really hoping to get a few more responses from the feelers I sent out so this can be a full-on series. So, keep your fingers crossed!

And if you can think of any names I might have overlooked - especially in South films - please feel free to comment or drop me a line at filmi.girl (at) gmail (dot) com.

Now, Monday gossip!

* WHAT? This would be amazing - Katrina might be doing a Tamil film with

Maybe that is why Priyanka is avoiding
Mani Ratnam...

To be fair, I'd rather see a great Tamil actress cast in
his rumored adaptation of Ponniyin Selvan than either Kat or PC.

* The MNS is causing trouble on the sets of
Murder 2.

When questioned why the MNS would take such a step, Mukesh [Bhatt] revealed, "The MNS has started interfering in the film industry as if they have the power to do so. They want us to work with their people."

* Ranbir got a little too much inside the head of his character from
Rockstar. Poor guy! Method acting has its stresses...

* Deepika Padukone is training in
martial arts for Rana. This actually makes me happy - the one role of hers I really enjoyed was as butt-kicking Meow-Meow in Chandni Chowk to China.

* Yana Gupta fans take note! She will be doing an
item song in Dilli Chalo. More specifically, she is doing a remake of Zeenat Aman's Laila.

* Ekta Kapoor has a plot ready for
Shootout at Lokhandwala 2.

* Bunty Walia is casting
his girlfriend as the heroine in his next film.

* I've already got
Ra.1 fatigue and the film won't be out for 6 months...

* Read a profile of
Anushka Sharma...

She certainly does talk fast and talk a lot. Meiyang Chang, one of her closest buddies and co-star in Badmaash Company, says she has not one but three brains working simultaneously. “She lights up the room with hyper energy,” he says. To keep her surplus electricity in check, she practises transcendental meditation twice a day, without which she becomes cranky. She also loves to read philosophy, and hopes one day she will get some time off to get a degree in the subject. Currently, she is consumed by 'Open', Andre Agassi’s auto biography, and keeps quoting from it.

* Read a profile of
The Twilight Players, who were featured in Dev.D.

“Dance is just the vessel through which to share our ideology,” he says. “What we do is an authentic expression of who we are. Vintage is suddenly fashionable, but we’re the originals, the real deal, and we’ve never compromised our values. Funnily enough, that’s why I’ve had a long career -- otherwise we wouldn’t be fresh.”

They don’t do weddings or bar mitzvahs, and have even turned down lucrative Bollywood film offers if they didn’t feel there was enough creative freedom or a match in artistic sensibilities.

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.
