Wednesday Gossip!

When I woke up I thought it was Thursday but it's not! It's only Wednesday!

Let's hit the gossip!

* Prepare yourself for a full year of celebrating

A series of exhibitions, screenings, a play, a documentary and a biography release have been planned in India and abroad to commemorate the birth centenary of Ashok Kumar, considered by many to be one of Hindi cinema’s greatest actors.

The events will kick off in October this year and culminate on Oct 13, 2011, his 100th birth anniversary.

* Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is making a film on
the life of Jesus.

* According to
the Guardian, Dunno Y … Na Jaane Kyun has the makings of a camp classic.

Ra.1 is not set for June 3rd 2011 after all.

* Karan Johar shows a stunning lack of
self-awareness as he discusses the need for talented writers in Bollywood.

“I think I’ve now broken out of the mould I created for myself, and am looking to make all kinds of movies and with all kinds of writers. However, what is necessary is that the screenplay should appeal to my instinct”

* Kalki Koechlin is a
happy girl!

"It was superb working with Zoya Akhtar. It's so much fun because she is so down to earth and also listens to girls."

* VVC wants Mickey Rourke to join Nicholas Cage in
Broken Horses.

* Salman Khan
clarifies his stance on Shahrukh Khan.

“Sharukh and I don’t talk anymore. We had misunderstanding and hence parted ways. There is no chance of Shahrukh and Salman coming together in future.”

Also in the news but not worth linking to... Aish and Abhi are skipping the screening of Raavan at the Venice Film Festival (possibly because they're horribly embarrassed by the film), Mallika Sherawat is returning to India (for Dhamaal 2, which starts filming soon), and Amitabh Bachchan is being an old codger about somebody trolling his blog.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
