Thursday Gossip!

Goooooood morning! I recorded a podcast last night with Asim from Upodcast and Amaluu from Bollystalgia all about DABANGG, Salman Khan's career, and the future of the masala hero! I think we hit on some good points, so stay tuned for that!

And here's what's happening around Bolly-town!

* Anurag Kashyap and Kiran Rao have gone over well in

* Even though
Tees Maar Khan doesn't open until December, it hasn't stopped the press from already stirring up ridiculous fake controversy. In this case, woman director v. woman director. Farah Khan's film is opening the same time as Bhavna Talwar's art house film Happi. How is that even a contest? The films are aimed at two completely different audiences. I doubt anybody is going to wander into Tees Maar Khan and be like, "Hey! This is a commercial film! I thought the one by the woman director was an art house flick."

* And speaking of
Tees Maar Khan, the film was wrapped in record time thanks to...

* Vikram's new film has a title:
Deva Magan.

* Is Vidya Balan taking Uma Thurman's role in a remake of
Kill Bill?

* And will Ajay Devgn be opposite Vidya in the
Silk Smitha biopic?! I CAN ONLY HOPE SO!

* Kunal Kapoor thinks
unconventional is good, these days.

* Who loves Shotgun Sinha? Spoiler alert... ME! Shotgun

"People say that Dabangg is hit of 2010... But it is the biggest-ever hit film in India and abroad."

And THAT is how you give a quote when somebody asks you about your daughter's new film.

Dabangg is still holding strong at single screen theaters and it looks likely to beat 3 Idiots first week totals!

Aamir Khan has agreed to go on Koffee with Karan! We can all look forward to watching that!!

I didn't report on these yesterday since they weren't of much interest and I was having more fun making my Facebook mockup but here are the
National Film Award winners:

Best Film: Kutty Srank (Malayalam)
Most Popular Film: 3 Idiots [clearly not the Most Popular Film with Filmi Girl Award]

Best Actor: Amitabh Bachchan for Paa
Best Actress: Ananya Chatterjee for Abohoman (Bengali)
Best Supporting Actor: Farooq Sheikh for Abohoman (Bengali)
Best Supporting Actress: Arundhati Naag for Paa

Best Director: Rituparno Ghosh for Abohoman (Bengali)
Best Music Director: Amit Trivedi for Dev.D

Nargis Dutt Award (for best feature film on national integration): Delhi 6

Choreographed by Farah Khan! Go, Kat!! I can't wait for
Tees Maar Khan!

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
