Tuesday Gossip!

Apparently it's feast or famine in the world of gossip - after some sparse days we've got a buttload of stories to go through. So buckle up and start reading!!!

* Ram Gopal Varma and the encounter specialists.

Mr. Nayak is currently suspended from the police department, accused of amassing assets disproportionate to his income of 10,000 rupees a month, or $200 a month, as an inspector. He denies the accusation and says the accusations against him and Mr. Sharma were concocted by colleagues jealous of their fame, and he’s eager to return to the department.

Mr. Nayak, who says he’s close to Mr. Varma and loves all of his movies because he portrays policemen as heroes, insists Mr. Varma’s movies not be taken literally, and that he takes liberties with stories to make them more cinematic.

* This is a fascinating piece on cataloging Bollywood's phone numbers.

Malhotra states, “Every six months about 40-50 per cent of India’s film personalities change their numbers.” So, every six months, a team of 15 from Malhotra’s Bandra office calls every number in the phone directory to check if it is still functional. “If it isn’t operational then we try to source it through people who have worked with them. Addresses are physically verified by our team members so that there is no scope for any discrepancy,” he confirms.

* In possibly the best thing you will read all day, Sunny Deol's non-violent teacher character undergoes a quick re-write so he can fight some goondas.

A source revealed, “The idea of turning Sunny into a non-violent professor did not go down well with the distributors in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and the rest of North India. So the script has undergone a quick revision. While Sunny still plays a teacher he will be taking on college hoodlums' fist-to-fist. He won't be the Gandhian lamb of a Professor Saab that his father played in Asit Sen's Sharafat, 40 years ago. He will be far more aggressive and even take off his kurta for the climactic battle.”

The only correct response to this is: HA HA HA HA!

* Bipasha's Hollywood debut runs into financial trouble.

* Has Veena Malik signed a British film?

* Another successful weekend for Agneepath.

The best part of the piece is the description of Akshaye Khanna's Gali Gali Chor Hai:

The political satire failed to get audience vote despite its well-intentioned thought. Many were of the opinion that the second-half dragged but most importantly the film failed to make a point with its abrupt end.

By "many people" I suspect the author meant him/herself.

* Ashwini Chaudhary, director of Jodi Breakers, is delightfully candid.

After Good Boy Bad Boy failed, Ghai and you did not part amicably...

I didn't even complete the film. I walked out after completing 60 per cent of it. Directors who turn producers shouldn't interfere too much. It's like you appoint a driver but reprimand him every five minutes for the way he drives. Aren't you simply asking for an accident then?

* Is the Big B feuding with UTV after they dumped Aishwarya for Vidya in Heroine?

* Old Plastic Face is pinning his hopes on Agent Vinod.

Rumours are abuzz that Saif is pinning his hopes on it big time as he feels this could be his big ticket to the Khan league, presently ruled by Salman, Shahrukh and Aamir Khan. He told reporters that he doesn’t know how it feels to be the number one star. When he sees his earlier films, he feels that he graduated a bit late than the rest. Now, he is coming on his own. He not only looks good now but also feels so too.

And he's planning a sequel.

Why does this sound like Saif's version of Deepika's Aarakshan speech? "It's my life!" Ha ha ha!

* Kajal Agarwal chooses A.R. Murugadoss over Maneesh Sharma? Either way, I'll be happy to see her! I ♥ Kajal.

* Jaya Bachchan to return back to our movie screens with a film by Rituparno Ghosh.

* Ileana D'Cruz is having troubles in the Southern industries or is she?

* Deepika Padukone confirmed for Rajini's Kochadaiyaan. What does that mean for Katrina Kaif? I guess she wasn't finalized. (Also, Dippy's ex Siddharth Mallya seems like a bit of a douchebag. No surprises there, I guess.)

* O ho ho! Priyanka Chopra is not going to be cast in any of Karan Johar's upcoming films. Why?

A leading daily suggests that after the success of Agneepath, PC has gone publicising that she had signed a film with Karan, that wasn't well-accepted by KJO.

Will she suck it up and take Dippy's leftovers?

* Shahrukh Khan's upcoming Yash Raj film is said to be inspired from an old Rajesh Khanna film. The link is worth clicking for the smarmiest picture of Shahrukh you will ever see.

* Jhoom Barabar Jhoom director Shaad Ali to return to directing? With RANVEER SINGH?

* Ali Zafar says don't judge Pakistan by people like himself and Veena Malik.

And if you're not following Mr. Naidu 99 on youtube, you'd better get on it! He just uploaded a new Helen video!

Ah... politically incorrect and sexy as hell! I cannot wait to see the H-Bomb back on screen in Jodi Breakers!!!!
