Monday Gossip!

Can we all take a minute to appreciate the fact that THE Dilip Kumar has a blog now?

Today in gossip - the usual! Like Neha Dhupia said, the only things that move product are sex and Shahrukh Khan... or in our case today, Chikni Chameli and Shahrukh Khan.

* We'll be seeing a lot of articles like this coming up, I'm sure. Indian Express runs through the year in films.

To make the mega-budget Ra.One a cracker of a Diwali release Shahrukh Khan went on a marketing blitzkrieg, innovatively promoting the film on all possible platforms besides collaborating with over 25 brands to grab eyeballs and recover the huge investment. The film garnered moderate response.

And the satellite rights for Don 2 have been sold... for 37 crores.

* "Chikni Chameli" was ripped off from a Marathi song. Does anybody not getting paid by Dharma actually like the picturization?

Meantime, comparison is being drawn between Chameli Katrina Kaif’s koli avatar, Helen’s kashti sari from Mungda… (Inkaar) and Madhuri Dixit’s fisherwoman attire from Humko Aaj Kal Hai…. (Sailab).

Yeah... no. "Mungda" is one of my all-time favorite item songs and as much as you know I love Kat, she is no Helen. (Even leaving aside the fact that Helen can move her face in "Mungda"...)

* You know how I feel... taking Shahid Kapoor instead of Imran Khan is an upgrade but in a Punit Malhotra film? Yuck! There is no cast that can make his half-baked style of filmmaking palatable. Dating Sonam Kapoor is his only talent.

* Not even Sonal Chauhan (Bbuddah) can be convinced to sign a film opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh. Back to the barrel of washed-up model-actresses it is! What are you going to do, Neil, now that Ameesha Patel has gone and signed a film opposite Sunny Deol? I hear Dia Mirza might be available...

Is it me or is Shahrukh's hair looking more and more like Amitabh's? (In that it's technically "his" because he owns it...)

I don't think you can count "Chikni Chameli" as a ripoff when "Kombadi Paladi" was done by the same same people. They just remade their own song.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
