Wednesday Gossip!

Top story today... IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

Congratulations to Aishwarya, Abhishek, and their families!

Can anything else top that today? NOPE! (But I posted things, anyways...)

 * Shahrukh Khan: brand ambassador for West Bengal?

* Check out an interview with director Shekhar Kapur on NPR.

* Does anybody really still care about Hrishitaa Bhatt? It was probably a smart choice not to star in the film she produced... unlike Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza, who self-produced themselves in a couple of flops.

* Top brass at Yash Raj are allegedly unhappy with certain scenes Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. Considering some of the stuff they have released over the last few years, I'm not confident that they can tell quality filmmaking from a hole in the wall... we'll see what happens.

* Nostalgic!!! Bombay Velvet is back in the news!! Now, Ranveer Singh is attached. If we wait long enough, Aishwarya's daughter will be starring before this film makes it to cinema screens.

* Can we stop making films from Chetan Bhagat books already? 3 Idiots aside, most novels make terrible films. Novellas and short stories... okay. Novels are better suited to mini-series format. Also, Chetan Bhagat is kind of awful.

* Sigh. Are we already hyping a showdown between Joker and Raaz 3 a YEAR IN ADVANCE?! That is too much.

* Juhi Chawla for Son of Sardar.

* Sonam has potentially signed on opposite Vijay in an Tamil language A.R. Murugadoss film... which makes me happy. If A.R. Murugadoss can make SHRUTI HAASAN passable, then working with the sometimes iffy Sonam will be a breeze. (Will we see Vidya Balan make her way South, too?)

* Jimmy Shergill talks Lolo.

Ask him how is it working with Karisma and Jimmy says that she is a chilled out person. “Karisma is a very relaxed and chilled out person. We have a lot of action scenes together, so there is never a dull moment on the sets,” he reveals

* WHAT? How can Deepika Padukone possibly be leaner?! Abbas-Mustan have asked her to lose weight for Race 2, which kind of blows my mind. Is she playing a famine victim?

* Rishi Kapoor sheds some light on Agneepath.

And Rishi hated the man he played. Says the actor, "I play a butcher who indulges in the trafficking of minor girls. My character was not there in the original Agneepath. They've only retained Mr. Bachchan's, Danny Denzongpa, the mother and sister's characters from the original. Also, the new Agneepath is set in the same period-1970s-as the old, so no cellphones, computers, gizmos, etc .Otherwise the entire screenplay has been refurbished. My character Rauf Lala is a new one in Agneepath. He is meat-seller on many levels. He's a butcher and runs a flesh trade for young girls."

And just for fun... John and Akshay promoting Desi Boyz with there smooth dance moves!

From the reports I read, Chalo Dilli did respectably at the box office and garnered positive reviews.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
