Thursday Gossip!

I'm sure we all know the top story today... Bollywood celebs were NOT impressed with the terror attacks. So, terror plotters, if you were trying to get on Hrithik Roshan's good side - it didn't work. Not to mention the tragedy of Aishwarya Rai postponing her French honors... I hear there are to be candlelight marches in her honor.

Seriously, though, my heart goes out to the victims and I hope that life returns to normal for Mumbai as quickly as possible. The best revenge is not letting yourself be terrorized or taunted into lashing out at a certain community or group - because then the terrorists have really won.

We should all take a page from Amitabh Bachchan's book and just ignore the media's sensationalizing behavior.
The Big B is speaking out against the media on his blog for exactly the kind of stupid media-generated stories that his blog usually fodder for.

The awful events of yesterday do make the following 'news' stories seem much less important... but the gossip and PR firm released stories will continue flow...

And, you know, since I've started receiving some of those, it just becomes more and more clear how much bullshit clutters up the 'news.' And what's more shocking is how many of these stories I see posted almost
verbatim with different 'journalist's' names attached as the 'author.'

Anyways... click on in to see what's happening in Tinsel Town today... and to check out the awesome
Sahib Biwi aur Gangster trailer, feat. Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill, and Randeep Hooda.

*
This op-ed piece is hilariously pretentious in its striving for Passion For Cinema levels of condescension, only aimed at Lollywood.

So how come a country that introduced Coke Studio, plays like Akbari Asghari, serials like Dhoop Kinare and Dastaan, a telly roster incorporating names like Asif Raza Mir, Bushra Ansari, Iman Ali and Sanam Saeed has lost its filmy side?

For one, we only carry plus size movie actresses. For another, it was the cynical obsession to stand tight with Bollywood.

Oh, the zing at curvy actresses is just priceless!! Because
everybody knows that having size zero actresses is the mark of real quality cinema.

* Now, erase the taste of that tripe with an interview with
Q!

Are you going to address homosexuality in some of your later movies?

What is there to deal with homosexuality? It's not something different. Every one of us is polysexual. It is in our culture. Take kama sutra, Upanishads, Vaishav Bahabali, shaivak logic, sexuality is mellifluous.

* Rajinikanth, who is apparently
doing better, has been tapped by Puri Jagannath for a Tamil remake of Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap.

* Question: Is Shahrukh Khan a 14-year old girl? Really, dude,
The Black Eyed Peas for Ra.1? Please tell me this is just because your Bat Mitzvah is coming up... or your kids begged you to ask.

* Oh, here we go... an article detailing what happened during a
Katrina Kaif live chat with fans.

When a police officer from Nagaland told the 26-year-old actress that she "looks good with Salman Khan", Katrina said, "Yes, he is a good friend of mine."

* Kajal Aggarwal, who is described here as "basically a Punjabi hailing from Mumbai,"
explains that she won't be doing bikini scenes any time soon.

“A 'no bikini', 'no kisses' and 'no intimacy' policy is something that I have maintained right through my career so far. I don't see any reason why I should be going back on that. If I am uncomfortable about something, I won't stoop down to certain levels just to bag a part. I guess it is not skin show that would show my talent.”

* Will it be Ranbir or Shahid for the Bollywood version of
KO?

* Is Emraan Hashmi trying to push Randeep Hooda out of
Mahesh Bhatt's Informer?

* Farhan Akhtar gives a statement on
the recent death of Priyanka Chopra's Don 2 stunt double.

*
Krrish 3 will be shot in Hyderabad to avoid throngs of fans.

Lastly... are you suffering from a severe lack of Jimmy Shergil in your life? I know it's been a while since MY last dose, so here you go!!! Cool new trailer for
Saheb Biwi aur Gangster - also starring Mahie Gill (Dev.D and Dabnagg) and Emraan Hashmi's nemesis Randeep Hooda (Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai).

Ah, the media. I'm a bonafide member of the media (print journalist) and even I get tired of their hype.

But my heart and prayers do go out to all of Mumbai affected by this. Having to watch the rising death toll yesterday was immensely difficult.

And as to your comment about SRK being a 14-year-old girl... I seriously LOL'd. Ironically my dad, who is about SRK's age, has a strange attachment to The Black Eyed Peas too. But I believe SRK has been A, gotten the pressure from his kids (he tweeted something about it) and B, is these days always out to make every one of his projects a mega-mega-mega hit. Considering The Black Eyed Peas's popularity, this is probably mostly motivated by that drive.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
