Wednesday Gossip!

Good morning! I did a little re-design on my blog settings yesterday and I hope you find this easier to navigate.

What is life without change, right?

Anyways, in gossip today... Ranbir Kapoor on the cover of
GQ, Osama bin Laden and Bollywood, a new star son debuts, Salman Khan breaks the world kissing record, a promo of Ramya's new film Johnny Mera Naam-Preeti Mera Kaam, and MORE!

* Something timely - actor Pradhuman Singh discusses what it was like playing the Osama-double in Tere Bin Laden.

Your film has been banned in Pakistan. Any views on that?

I wished the film was not banned there. I had felt bad about it. We had Ali Zafar in the film and releasing our film in Pakistan would have been good for the people there. But, I suppose, there must have been some reason for banning it there. It could have been a fear of the reaction from the extremist groups. However, most people of Pakistan have watched the movie online. I've also sent original DVDs of the film to my friends there. Now, that Osama is no more, it makes no sense to want to release the film in Pakistan.

* Check out an interesting video discussion of
Bollywood as an agent of change in the Middle East. Although, in between the talking head segments is a recut "Munni Badnaam" which is kind of distracting. But whatever you do - for the love of all that is holy - do NOT see what the comments have to say. You will regret it.

* Is Salman Khan's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri making a film on the life of
Rajinikanth? Considering his last was the 2008 super-flop Hello, I'm not sure if he has the chops to take on Rajini's story.

* And because what is Bollywood but one big family - Atul's cousin Rati's son
Tanuj Virwani is going to be making his big screen debut in Love You Soniyo.

The
Hindustan Times reporter Serena Menon clearly doesn't think too highly of him because she amusingly describes him this way:

Because he’s had a non-filmi upbringing, his decision to act was sudden. In fact, his mother thought it was a joke. “I decided two years ago. Before that, I had no plans, I was more interested in working behind the camera; in writing or direction, something I still want to do,” says the actor, who was a fat kid with glasses and bad skin before he started grooming himself.

* Read an interesting piece on
PVR Films. After some mega-flops like Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, the company is going back to the exhibition business.

Even at the height of its involvement in film production, PVR was consistent in its approach to mall development. "They almost never invest in projects where the mall owner's objective is merely to build a property and offload it to buyers. They want to partner with developers who have a long-term view on retail development," says Puri. It is perhaps this well thought out game plan that has allowed PVR to carve out a distinctive identity. This identity in turn has attracted entrepreneurs like Amit Burman to team up with the Bijlis.

* Shahrukh Khan is shooting a
cameo for Color's show Sasural Simar Ka.

* Anil Kapoor is playing a cop in upcoming Hollywood film
Cities.

* Salman Khan breaks the world record for
getting kissed!

* Imran Khan is going to be doing an explicit love-making scene in
Delhi Belly. And how odd that the general release trailer can show somebody crapping but everybody talks so delicately around what Imran will be doing.

* Take a peak at Tanisha Mukerjee's horror film
Chop - but only if you have a strong stomach. This one is not for wimps! I wonder is she pretended that the guy getting killed was Uday Chopra... in retaliation for Neal'N'Nikki.

*
Film editor Cinematographer Ravi Chandran left work on Agneepath because of a disagreement with Karan Johar and director Karan Malhotra. He's back working on Suriya's 7am Arivu.

*
Shor has done well at the box office.

* Aishwarya Rai wants to launch her own
fashion line!

* Check out some behind-the-scenes pictures of
Double Dhamaal.

GQ!

And how about a promo for my girl Ramya's new film!

Hi, Ravi K. Chandran is a cinematographer, not an editor.

I'm still getting used to your new organization of the blog. :)

The second promo for Johnny Mera Naam looks like it took it's set design from Lage Raho Munnabhai.

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
