Friday Gossip!!

Friday! Friday! Friday!!

Let's see what everybody in Bolly-town is up to!

* Subhash Ghai is Mr. Chatty today with
Right Yaa Wrong coming out.

He talks about how
his current film.

What made you a fund a thriller like Right Yaaa Wrong considering comedies are the flavor of the season?

I don't think so. People love thrillers.
Race was a thriller which did well, even Ghajini was an action thriller. Personally, I liked the script of Right Yaaa Wrong and had full faith in director Neerraj Pathak's abilities since he has written some good films like Pardes and Apne.

And
about his next film:

What about your next directorial venture? When does that start?

I am still scripting. I just finished the first draft but have to make a few more changes. In my last film
Yuvvraaj, I focused more on the visuals part of it which didn't work with the audience. This time around I have to be extra careful. I need a Big Hit. It will take me around 6 months more to finish scripting. I plan to start sometime during Diwali this year.

Right Yaa Wrong is also the first Sunny Deol film to release in Pakistan (for some reason - like the fact that Sunny spent the 1990s delivering the fist of justice to Pakistan - I can't see Sunny being too popular in Lahore and Karachi...)

* Koko talks
Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge! And she is the belle of the moment with two releases out right now and one announced! She's doing a film with beau Ranvir Shorey!

* Karishma Kapoor had her
baby - a boy!

* Director Dibakar Banerjee explains that if you are offended by the title of his film
Love Sex aur Dhokha, then it probably isn't meant for you.

* Remember that fantasy film Siddharth and Shruti are doing - it will be produced by
Disney.

American Hollywood-watching sites pick up on this and
rehash the same old ground about Hollywood dollars entering India.

Variety gives us a bit more on the plot (which sounds AMAZING!)

Untitled pic, which will also be dubbed into Tamil, is a fantasy adventure that follows a 9-year-old girl's quest to save her land from oppression by an evil queen. She is aided by her special healing powers and protected by a blind swordsman. Film is due for a January release.

Yes, please. I will watch that. Siddharth, the blind swordsman? LOVE IT!

*
Tansen has been resurrected but minus Himesh.

(Thankfully, we have learned a lot since
2008 - like the fact that Himesh is a terrible actor.)

* Akon is
still making the news for being in Mumbai.

* James Cameron is discussing
The Future of Cinema in New Delhi tomorrow.

*
Marocharitra sounds really cute!

The director is confident that the film will have its connect with the MTV generation. “This may be the age of Roadies and Splitsvilla but I know people who've stood by true love. The film is set in an alien land, but the idea of love and the emotions remain unchanged,” he states. Rather than language, it's the cultural difference that the families try to bridge here.

* Hold on to your panties, ladies - Shahrukh and Leonardo Di Caprio are going to be
starring together in Xtreme City!

* Sallu is back in court for
Chori Chori Chupke Chupke related nonsense.

* Priety Zinta is thinking about joining
politics! Good luck to her!

* Amol Gupte is playing another thug in a hilarious-looking comedy about the American-gifted recession called
With Love to Obama.

* Over at the
Wall Street Journal blogs, Rajeev Mantri writes what he learned from Bollywood:

Kishore Biyani, founder of Pantaloon Retail, was asked at the TiE Entrepreneurial Summit in Mumbai last year what he felt like when deep-pocketed companies like Reliance Industries entered the retail industry. Mr. Biyani gave a pithy reply - he recalled the confrontation scene between Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor from Yash Chopra’s classic Deewar, released in 1975.

And the lovely BEBO graces us with her presence yet again...

Bebo's such a chameleon--you never know what she'll look like next. I can't believe Salman's *still* dealing with CCCC fallout!

The only reason I wouldn't want Preity to join politics is because then she wouldn't have more films. :-(

And, OMG, SRK & Leonardo together in a film??? It might be the first DiCaprio movie I've watched since Aviator.

@ajnabi I know, right?! It might be the first Di Caprio film I've seen since Romeo & Juliet ;P

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
