Thursday!! Bollywood Gossip!!

Okay - did everyone watch Glee last night?! Every week, I come away and think "That is the best hour of TV I have ever seen..."

Gossip round-up!!

First of all, I think we all might be interested to know that Dil Bole Hadippa did better overseas than it did in India - Wanted did worse. Wanted will be gone from my local cinema next weekend. There is a good research paper there for somebody.

Anyways, let's see what everybody is up to!

* After the helicopter crash that killed former chief minister Y S Rajashekhara Reddy Tollywood heroes have stopped demanding to be seen descending from the sky in helicopters - a la Billa! Wouldn't it almost be more macho to demand the chopper even though we all know they're not 100% safe?

* Speaking of Billa, the audio launch for the Prabhas/Kangana starrer Ek Niranjan will be this Friday! (I like that this article calls Prabhas a "young rebel hero"!)

* Geeky magazine Wired.com is impressed with the poster for Jihad Kurbaan! Myself - it's provocative but I'd prefer less flesh and more eyes looking longingly at each other. (Doesn't Saifu look like he's been photoshopped by somebody who had seen 300 too many times?! Hee!)

* Suriya still seems set to enter Bollywood. Although no info is given on the film, Indiaglitz seems to think that he's been asked to put on weight. This means, of course, that he'll be playing a villain or something opposite a vain B-town hero who wants to be the buffest dude on screen.

* Here's a bit more on
the piracy scandal involving What's Your Rashee!! Apparently, the cops busted up a whole gang!

* Finally, how about a little blind item from our friends at Star Box Office?

The story goes that she was head-over-heels in love with her then boyfriend. A big director signed her on for the most challenging film of her career and was wondering who to cast as the hero opposite her. And he couldn’t cast a big star as that would steal the thunder from her as she is the soul and hero of the film. The director was unsure about casting his original choice (the actress’ then boyfriend) because his debut film was a grand failure and the real-life couple didn’t exhibit any sparks in the film.

She pleaded with the director for her beloved. The decent director who one hardly hears anything fishy about gave her an option. She had to jump into the casting couch with him if she wanted her boyfriend as her co-star. And the love-struck girl did it, all for love.

The couple is cordial with each other and still friends in spite of their four-year-old relationship biting the dust a long time ago. If the film salvages the new actor’s unsuccessful career, then he owes his sweet, loving ex-gal a big favour. Someday he just might have to return it!

My guess: Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja!

And pictures!! Lots of stars showed up for the Kanjeevaram (a Tamil film that did well at TIFF) success party!

Sallu in a "being human" T-shirt!

Curvy Katrina Kaif with Rocky S!

And still the hottest uncle-ji around - Suniel Shetty!

Hmmm blind gossip item reminded me of Priyanka and Herman too (but as always with any blind gossip, I hope that it isn't true)

"Doesn't Saifu look like he's been photoshopped by somebody who had seen 300 too many times?!"

Filmi Girl you are excellent! He looks exactly like that. Trust you to think of the most apt and funny description.

"Young Rebel Star" is Prabhas's nickname given to him by fans (a lot of South Indian actors have nicknames like "Superstar", "Megastar", etc.). His uncle was called Rebel Star, so he's Young Rebel Star. In one of his movies...Munna, I think?...when he shows up on screen it introduce him as "Young Rebel Star" instead of Prabhas.

That blind item is definitely Priyanka and Harmann. But I doubt the casting couch part about Ashutosh since his wife Suchita who is his company's producer is involved in every aspect of his movies. She looks like a no nonsense lady.

WYR looks like a flop movie anyway so Harmann still has a way to go before his first success.

I'm kinda surprised DBH did better overseas, considering the amount of NRI-bashing others have reported. But, whatevs, maybe that's what NRIs experience when they visit India or something. I'm not surprised about Wanted, though. I mean, *that's* pretty masala.

The blind vice does sound like Priyanka, and not so much blind as nearsighted. But I agree with Anonymous about WYR looking like a flop. Fourteen songs? That sounds really self-indulgent.

I saw a promo for the Oprah show on TV where Abhishek and Aishwarya are the guests on Monday, September 28. It will be interesting to see what they talk about with Oprah.

Ummm..Not so much a fan of the bare back Kareena on the poster. But since it's a KJO film, I have got to see it :D

Note from Filmi Girl:

I love Bollywood - and all the ridiculous things that happen in Bollywood - but it doesn't mean that I can't occasionally make fun of various celebrities and films.

If you don't like my sense of humor, please just move on by - Trolls are not appreciated and nasty comments will be deleted.
